We have a number of different backup options available to your via cpanel. They are as follows:

• Generate/Download a Full Backup: This option will generate a full cpanel/domain/email backup and save it to your /home/user/ folder. You can then download via FTP and save the backup locally. Once you have done this, be sure to delete the file on the server so as not to user up disk space.
  
• Home Directory Backup: This option will allow you to download directly your entire 'public_html' folder in a compressed format. Remember, this option does NOT backup your databases.
  
• Download a MySQL DB Backup: These options will allow you to download directly the corresponding database in a compressed file format.
  

So which should you choose? All the options above have a use. However generating and downloading a full backup is tedious and time consuming, so we suggest you do this occasionally.

A home backup is useful if file in your webspace are continually updated, and you may wish to download this daily if need be.

Last of all, MySQL DB Backups are essential when you are running a dynamic website that stores content in a database. You would be wise to download these daily if need be.

Remember, backups are your responsibility, so please ensure you use the tools we supply as explained above.
