Our upstream provider has partnered with www.greenmountainenergy.com to purchase carbon credits to offset the emissions of our hosting operations. As our contribution to caring for the environment, all our hosting accounts come with the following 'green' features:
Carbon Offsetting
We will continue to review our Carbon offsetting commitments over time to ensure they cover our emissions, however you can be assured that all our emissions are fully offset, giving you peace of mind knowing that hosting with us will not harm the environment.
Reduced Energy Consumption
When deploying new servers and hardware, we ensure we always use the most efficient equipment available at the time. This includes the type of CPU and power supply our servers run, to the datacenters we utilise for hosting our servers.
Data Center Cooling Adjustments
One of the largest energy demands when it comes to hosting is the datacenter cooling setup. Cooling is imperative to ensure your sites run efficiently, but while still ensuring our servers are cooled correctly. We also only choose to host our servers in datacenters that are up with the latest Green Cooling initiatives, from the fitting of filer panels to the isolation of servers from the ambient air.
Recycling
We endeavour to ensure all our equipment that is retired is recycled where possible, rather than adding to the environmental damage that discarded computer hardware can cause.
